It doesn’t matter if they are in your Home, or Automobile. It doesn’t matter if they have dirt, grime, fingerprints, bug splatter, or elemental contamination on them. Dirty Windows are a big problem! In this article, I will be answering this very question, in my honest opinion, of course!

The best way to clean windows, in your Automobile & Home, is to use a Microfiber Towel & Glass Cleaner. You just spray your favorite Glass Cleaner, onto the Window Surfaces directly, and then wipe the Window, with a Microfiber Towel, first in a left to right motion, and then, in an up and down motion, until the Glass Cleaner has completely evaporated.

Below, I have listed my Top 5 Auto & Home Window Cleaning Methods. I have listed them in order of least favorite, to most favorite. Cleaning your Auto & Home windows is not a hard job, but if you don’t follow at least one of these methods, you will most likely be left with streaky, spotty windows, and may actually look worse, then when you first started cleanig them. If you follow at least one of these methods, you will be left with crystal-clear Windows.

I’m sure you have used Paper Towels before, to clean your Automotive & Home Windows. I know that I have, and they do work. However, it is definitely not the best solution, and doesn’t clean your Windows, nearly as well as other options. I do not use them much anymore, now that I am aware of the other available cleaning options.

Pros:

  • They can be inexpensive, although the more expensive Paper Towels are definitely better quality.
  • They are easy to find, in all local grocery, department, and home improvement stores.
  • They can be used on all Glass Surfaces (Auto & Home).
  • They are very easy to use.

Cons:

  • Better quality Paper Towels are more expensive.
  • They start to fall apart quickly, and can leave paper debris/lint on the Windows.
  • Can scratch Windows, if they are not pre-moistened with Glass Cleaner.
  • May have a harder time removing insects.

Process for using Paper Towels, and Glass Cleaner, to clean Automotive & Home Windows:

  1. Spray your favorite Glass Cleaner, onto the Window Surfaces directly. Be careful of drips. Clean off any excess cleaner immediately, so you don’t ruin any Window Sills, or Plastic Interior Parts.

  3. Using a few double-up Paper Towels, pre-moistened with Glass Cleaner, wipe the window, in an up and down motion, until the Glass Cleaner has completely evaporated.
  4. If you are cleaning outside windows, you may have to use more pressure, to remove any outside contaminants (bugs, water spots and bird poop).
  5. Repeat as necessary, until your windows are clean, and streak-free.
  6. Dispose of all used Paper Towels.
